Armor

Armor increases your Damage Thresholds. Some armor also provides Resistance to specific damage types (halving the damage after applying Evasion and Thresholds). Some heavy armor may reduce your Evasion score.

Unlike armor, Shields can be sacrificed to reduce the severity of an attack by one step. This represents the shield being destroyed to absorb a serious blow.

Shields

Type: Off-hand
Damage Threshold: +1 to all thresholds
Resistance: None
Evasion Impact: None
Special:

  • You may sacrifice a shield to reduce the severity of one incoming attack by one step (e.g., Critical → Serious). The shield is then considered destroyed.

Padded / Gambeson

Type: Light Armor
Damage Threshold: +1
Resistance: Bludgeoning
Evasion Impact: None
Special:

  • Can be worn under chainmail to gain both Threshold bonuses (if allowed by GM or features).

Leather

Type: Light Armor
Damage Threshold: +2
Resistance: None
Evasion Impact: None
Special:

  • Silent movement: rolls for stealth using Reflex gain +1d4 if only leather armor is worn.

Chainmail

Type: Medium Armor
Damage Threshold: +3
Resistance: Slashing
Evasion Impact: None
Special:

  • Disadvantage on stealth rolls.

Full Plate (Optional – High-tier or rare)

Type: Heavy Armor
Damage Threshold: +5
Resistance: Slashing, Piercing
Evasion Impact: –2
Special:

  • You cannot benefit from Evasion bonuses from Agility-based Aspects.
