 +[Dash](https://www.dash.org/), Digital Cash, is one of the most useful cryptocurrencies out there, and it has a lot going for it.

That means you can "friend" someone and send money back and forth without needing to know the long string of letters and numbers. And it creates a new and unique one every time you use it.  +## Wallets
 +Each of the above cryptocurrencies has their own wallet, which is the standard for that currency. You can certainly use their wallets if you want.

 +But there is at least one wallet that can use multiple currencies. [Edge](https://edge.app/) is one that is well-respected and can use all the currencies above. If you are just getting started using crypto I suggest just installing the Edge app on your phone and trying that out. You can even use it to buy your first crypto from inside the app.

 +## Dollars, et al
 +This is the Internet. There aren't supposed to be any countries or borders, so government money doesn't make sense here. And most government currencies are inferior to cryptocurrencies in many ways.

 +In order to use dollars or other legacy currencies you have to give information and control over to governments and corporations. That is ridiculous, and can be dangerous in some cases such as whistleblowers or people under oppressive regimes trying to get information out.

 +In addition, legacy payment methods have too high of a failure rate. In a business I used to run PayPal messed things up too many times so we had to drop them. I won't use them anymore. And every day I see people complaining on Reddit that Patreon's payment options (using the legacy systems) have lots of issues.
