<< rules:equipment:weapons ^ rules:start ^ rules:equipment:tools >> # Armor Armor increases your **Damage Thresholds**. Some armor also provides **Resistance** to specific damage types (halving the damage *after* applying Evasion but *before* checking Thresholds). Some heavy armor may reduce your **Evasion** score. Unlike armor, **Shields** can be sacrificed to **reduce the severity** of an attack by one step. This represents the shield being destroyed to absorb a serious blow. ## Shield **Type:** Off-hand \\\ **Damage Threshold:** +1 \\\ **Resistance:** None Perhaps Resistance to Ranged Attacks? \\\ **Evasion Impact:** None \\\ **Special:** - You may **sacrifice** a shield to reduce the severity of one incoming attack by **one step** (e.g., Critical → Serious).
